Working in the Foreign Office: Meet the diplomats

       According from this video, it is about diplomats working life. Many British diplomats are working in the Foreign Office. They have to do a lot of things that anyone does not think they do it before also me. For example, one of them she said she was there when the time of Arab Spring, so she had to be faced with earthquakes and flu. Also, she helped British nationals to get back to their home. However, they employed around 14000 people in 270 posts around the world. I think the word “post” is a country or place. It means the diplomats work for two years in foreign office after that they will go on a posting abroad at some country. Then they come back into London and take a job at a higher grade. It looks like the diplomats have to go to another country and spend many years of being an ambassador to learn and help people. For instance, some diplomats said she has lived in Jordan, Iraq, Ethiopia and Washington DC. Another one said he has worked in Islamabad and Pakistan. Someone said she went to Thailand and studied Thai for three years. Besides, she went to Japan and got language training for two years there as well.

      The most important thing that the diplomats must have to do is building a strong partnership with every other country on the planet. In my opinion, I think people who work this job need to be nice with everyone for having a good relationship between their countries. Though it is hard and challenge to do this job, they can get work experiences that they won’t know it before. Also, this job has a lot of opportunities to travel around the world.

     As we know the diplomat is a dream job of many people. If you really want to do this job, you should prepare yourself perfectly. Also, if you are good and passionate enough to do it then you will do it.

     From my point of view the diplomat is a job that I want to be as well. I think this job has strengths that are respectable and honorable. In contrast, weaknesses are do not have enough time to be with their family, and have to go to travel a lot.
